“September is upon us, and so is this month's skate calendar! Check out our offerings this month and come hang with us at the rink! We have Public Skate Friday & Saturday nights from 6:30 - 9:30 pm, and Sunday afternoon from 1:30 - 4:30pm. (NO FRIDAY SKATE ON 9/1! Fridays resume on September 8th).

This month we'll be celebrating the back-to-school season with a discount night on Friday September 22nd - all skaters receive $1.50 off entry!

For just $5.50 participants ages 6 & up can spend three hours rolling around the rink and having a blast ($3.50 for ages 5 & under)! We hope you'll join us soon here at the Fortuna Skating Rink!”

Rohner Park Basketball Courts Ribbon Cutting

You are invited to join in celebrating the grand opening of the brand-new basketball courts at Rohner Park in Fortuna!

The completion of the exciting basketball court project is now official. Thanks to the funding from Measure E, we've transformed a single court into two fully fenced courts. These courts feature top-of-the-line Bison Poly-carbonate backboards with breakaway rims, and we've laid down professional outdoor court surfacing complete with striping for both basketball and pickleball enthusiasts. What's more, we've added in-ground planters and a cozy picnic area near the courts' entrance.

Don't miss out on the festivities! Come by on September 5th at 5 pm and be part of Fortuna's celebration of this fantastic addition to Rohner Park.

Humboldt Sweets Is In Fortuna!

Humboldt Sweets opened up in Fortuna only a short while ago, bringing giant cinnamon rolls and more baked goods than you could imagine. Open now Tuesdays through Sundays from 8am-3pm, recently announcing their ability to accept payment via card.

Moving back to Humboldt County from Henderson, NV, many of us are so happy to have such a great bakery in town. Stop by their shop at 1044 Main Street in Downtown Fortuna to check out their mouthwatering baked goods.

Sip Of Summer Is Coming!

Get ready for a delightful return of the Sip of Summer on September 23rd, 2023, at the enchanting Rohner Park in Humboldt County, CA!

What's on the menu? Food trucks? Check! Lawn games? You got it! Craft hard cider? Absolutely! Picture an afternoon filled with live music, cider tasting, and picnicking on the lush lawns, nestled amid the majestic redwood-lined hills of the Eel River Valley.

It's Humboldt County's exclusive festival dedicated to all things hard cider, offering unlimited tastings to general admission or VIP ticket holders, along with a keepsake tasting glass. But that's not all! Alongside the cider samplings, expect a stage bustling with talented musicians, a curated selection of the finest craft vendors, mouthwatering food options, and more!

Ticket choices include General Admission, VIP, and Nondrinker categories. Kids aged 10 and under can come in for free, while those over 10 years old require the nondrinker ticket option. VIP perks? Access to the "fast pass" line and VIP parking.

The Sip of Summer extravaganza was born from the creative minds at Wild Souls Ranch, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization offering therapeutic equine youth and family services. Its mission? To celebrate the burgeoning cider scene and deliver a family-friendly summer festival to Fortuna, CA. Every penny raised from this event goes to support the Wild Souls Ranch in delivering programs for local at-risk youth, foster youth, and those who've been adopted out of foster care. Plus, it ensures our beloved equine partners receive the care and nourishment they deserve throughout the year.

Remember, you must be 21 or older with a valid ID to snag those general admission or VIP tickets. No furry friends allowed, and rain or shine, this event will go on! Refunds? Sorry, none in sight. So, mark your calendars for a day of cider-soaked fun!

Vendor applications are open for the Downtown Fortuna Apple Harvest

Downtown Fortuna’s applications are open for the Apple Harvest’s Downtown Vendors Fair.

Each October, the City of Fortuna welcomes the Apple Harvest Festival, a beloved annual tradition.

While the 2023 Apple Harvest Festival won't feature hayrides, fret not! They’ve arranged for the people mover and a senior bus to ensure convenient transportation for all attendees.
