Welcome back to the Fortune Fortuna Newsletter, where we’ll be going into local events, business happenings, and keeping you in the loop for what’s going on in our town!

New Businesses in Downtown Fortuna

Since the last issue of the Fortune Fortuna newsletter, there have been multiple businesses that have moved into the downtown area, here they are!

Makers Market On Main

Located at 1122 Main Street, this business will be home to many vendors. I was able to go in and visit one of the owners while they were setting up cabinets in the evening and I’m so excited to see them open! Lots of great local businesses will be vending their creations, but not only that- there will be local grassfed beef, and some ‘farmers' market’ style booths in the shop!

Il Forno Bakery

Il Forno Bakery is moving into the old Fortuna Fabrics & Crafts location on Main Street (1006 Main Street), opening up a second location from their home-base of Garberville! It hasn’t opened up yet, but the location is under renovation and I’ve heard rough estimates of dates for opening being around May.

Main Street Tattoo

There’s a new Tattoo shop as well! Main Street Tattoo has moved into the newly remodeled building that used to have Lost Coast Wizards (1136 Main St). From what I know, there’s two artists currently working at this new location- Jose “Zay” Aguilar & Dan “Shortdy” Rockholt.

Here’s the upcoming happening in Fortuna! Easter is right around the corner which means I’ve been digging looking for Easter Egg hunts!

Bunny Paint Night- Locha’s Mexican Restaurant

(Thursday, March 28th at 6pm)

Weekly Storytime- Fortuna Library

Easter Egg Hunt- Rohner Park

(Saturday, March 30th at 10am)

Soroptimist Group & Kiwanis Group of Fortuna is sponsoring/putting the event on again this year!The hunt is happening on 30th 10am Rohner Park (promptly! If you get there at 10am, you’ll probably miss out on the hunt!) The max age is 12 years old, 11 & 12 year olds meet by the cook shack and the younger kids meet the grassy area in front the playground.

Easter At Sanctuary Garden- Fortuna Community Health Center
